Technical Specifications of Iraqi LPG Valves

• Safety Mechanism (PRV): A critical requirement is the integration of a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV). This safety feature automatically vents gas if the internal pressure exceeds a specific threshold (typically set above 24-26 bar) due to high temperatures, preventing cylinder rupture.
• Material Composition: The valves are manufactured from high-grade forged brass. This material is selected for its superior resistance to corrosion, high pressure, and the chemical properties of the LPG mixture (Propane and Butane).
• Operating Pressure: Designed to function safely at a working pressure of 17 to 20 bar, with a test pressure capability often reaching 30 bar.
• Inlet/Outlet Standards: The valves feature standard threading (often 3/4″ NPT for the cylinder inlet) compatible with Iraqi regulators. The outlet design ensures a leak-proof seal when connected to domestic or industrial hoses.
• Durability: The valves are designed for a long service life, featuring a robust handwheel or spindle that remains functional under heavy use in diverse climatic conditions.
• Sealing and Authentication: Every valve must be fitted with a shrink-wrap security seal after filling. These seals are color-coded and branded by the Gas Filling and Services Company (GFC) to prevent tampering and guarantee that the valve has passed the “bubble test” for leaks.
